Gara Mică viaduct, Sibiu

The Gara Mică viaduct reopened. The complete overhaul of the viaduct was finished in a very short time, in just five months; works that do not require closing the road continue next year. While the viaduct was closed, traffic to and from Mediaș used the Sibiu bypass.

Drivers heading for Mediaș, the Obor market or the shopping centres in the area have been able to use the Gara Mică viaduct again since yesterday, after five months of major repairs. The mayor of Sibiu, Klaus Iohannis, reopened the viaduct to traffic. The viaduct is almost 300 m long and about 11 m wide; the carriageway, pavements and pedestrian stairs were repaired, new parapets fitted, the street lighting replaced and the road markings and signs renewed (source: Tribuna.ro, article by Sorana Maier).
